MARKS & SPENCER HOME: WHAT'S HOT FOR SS24?

Updated: Mar 1

We all know that M&S has been killing it in the homewares department of late so when the Spring Summer 2024 lookbook dropped in my inbox recently, I dove straight in for a browse... and I have to say, they have seriously upped their game!

According to the official press release, the M&S Spring Summer 24 collections showcase four distinctive house styles - namely Classic Boutique, Relaxed Contemporary, Cabana and Summer Resort. There's something to suit every home style, whether your desired aesthetic is more understated with natural tones and contemporary designs, or leans towards a fusion of bold colours and eclectic prints.

Some of the products have already hit M&S stores and even gone viral on insta - we're all obsessing over the cabbage bowls right? - while others will drop over the coming months so let's take a look at what they have lined up...

This collection draws inspiration from weekend getaways in classic country boutique hotels and primarily focuses on an eclectic mix and match style... think statement heritage patterns like stripes and gingham mixed with intricate florals, vintage ruffles, quirky ceramics and hand crafted bobbin detailing. The collection has an old-meets-new feel to it and is sure to be popular among the social media clan.

The perfect fusion of modern aesthetics and mid-century design ideas, M&S's Relaxed Contemporary collection is a nod towards the 'quiet luxury' trend which I discussed in a previous feature (read it here). It embraces neutral tones and a warm earthy colour palette alongside natural fabrics, brushed metals and rustic wood and is giving me some serious Soho Home vibes which is never a bad thing.

The SS24 Cabana collection is heavily influenced by global pattern and design. Printed textiles, hand painted ceramics, rattan accessories and rich detailed embroidery in an earthy palette of rich browns, sun-baked terracotta and deep reds, which together create an eclectic yet casual aesthetic.

The Summer Resort collection is bringing all the coastal vibes and leans in to a refreshing and vibrant seasonal colour palette of blue, rust and ochre. Patterns are bold and playful - think stripes, checkboard and waves - with coastal motifs, painted ceramics and lots of fun and funky tableware, perfect for al fresco dining this summer.
